Farestos, featuring the active agent toremifene citrate, is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) derived from triphenylethylene. Initially patented and approved in Europe in the mid-1990s, toremifene is primarily employed to treat metastatic ER+ breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

Benefits:

Utilized in bodybuilding by men for post-cycle therapy (PCT) to counteract or block effects of excessive estradiol resulting from aromatization of various androgens.
Particularly effective in restoring endogenous testosterone levels and preventing estrogen-related gynecomastia.
Stimulates the hypothalamus, prompting the release of gonadotrophic hormones (FSH and LH), essential for spermatogenesis and testosterone secretion from testicles.
Functions within the hypothalamic-pituitary-testes axis (HPTA), crucial for minimizing post-cycle muscle losses.
Acts as a true estrogen blocker by binding strongly to estradiol receptors, preventing estradiol from activating them.

Usage Information:

Does not lower overall circulating blood plasma levels of estradiol but blocks its activity in specific tissues.
Differentiates from aromatase inhibitors by not reducing total circulating levels of estradiol in the body.

Side Effects:

Negative impact on SHBG levels, potentially decreasing cycle efficiency when combating gynecomastia symptoms.
Less potent than tamoxifen in restoring HPTA and endogenous testosterone production, as demonstrated in studies.

Dosage Recommendations:

For a more effective boost in testosterone production, a dosage range of up to 120 mg per day is suggested.
Initial week of PCT: 120 mg/day, second week: 100 mg/day, remaining 3–4 weeks: 60 mg/day.
Individual dosages determined based on blood work results.

Administration Advice:

Timing depends on the type and cycle of steroids used, considering their half-lives.
Initiate Farestos approximately two weeks after the last injection for cycles ending with long-ester base steroids.
Begin PCT about three days after the last injection for cycles ending with short-ester base steroids.
Wait for androgen levels to fall before implementing post-cycle therapy.

Additional Information:

Farestos administration has no specific requirements; it can be taken before, during, or after meals and in the morning or night before bed.
No need to split up the dosage throughout the day, given toremifene's half-life of about 5 days, ensuring stable blood levels over an extended period.
